چکیده

The present study focuses on sustainable production of biodegradable polymers by <br /> Cupriavidus necator DSMZ 545 using glycerol as substrate. batch growth and biopolymer kinetics were established in a 7-L bioreactor, which resulted total biomass 8.88 g L–1 poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) accumulation 6.76 L–1. kinetic independently acquired substrate inhibition data then used to develop mathematical model for PHB process. This was eventually design different nutrient feeding strategies under constant feed rate, decreasing pseudo steady state (glycerol) optimize the during fed-batch cultivation. Among all cultivation strategies, highest productivity 13.12 0.27 h–1, respectively, achieved bioreactor where with respect maintained.

Production of polyhydroxyalkanoate biopolymer from vinasse using Ralstonia eutropha

Background Brazil is the world’s leading ethanol producer and exporter. Due to increasing fuel demands, ethanol production has escalated in recent years. Vinasse is generated as a byproduct of the ethanol industry and is mainly used as fertilizer. The excessive usage of vinasse in soil leads to groundwater contamination [1]. The objective of this project is to develop a fermentation process wit...

Optimization of Medium Composition for L-phenylalanine Production from Glycerol using Response Surface Methodology

L-phenylalanine was produced by genetically modified bacterium, Escherichia coli BL21(DE3), using glycerol as an alternative carbon source. Response surface methodology (RSM) involving central composite design (CCD) was adopted to evaluate the amount of L-phenylalanine produced. In this work, the optimum concentrations were determined of the major nutrients in the fermentation medium, which inc...
